Appearances Matter: Framing your Shopping Bags
Being thoroughly inconvenienced by a bunch of beautiful, brightly colored, and carefully designed paper bags gripped tightly in each hand is part of the shopping experience. Don’t you think?
In so many ways, the paper bag is more iconic than the product itself. When we think of Chanel, a black background with neat white font immediately comes to mind. Hermes? Bright, brilliant orange. Tiffany & co.? Obviously the little Tiffany Blue box and silky white ribbon.
But what do you do with them once you get home and remove your splurges from the packaging? Do you… *gasp* throw them away? I can’t bear to, so I just let them collect dust in the corner, which obviously makes much more sense.
So if you, like me, are a hoarder, then you will, like me, fall head over heels for this brilliant and super duper qua-druple simple idea that is so genius it’s almost flammable.

- Start collecting cute shopping bags and gift bags. Pick out your favorites and cut off one side of the bag. Leave one handle.
- Gather various sizes of frames to fit the different sizes of bags. Try thrifting for the frames!
- Use a really strong glue (Super Glue will work) and attach the bags to the center of a large white piece of construction paper.
- Pop the bag (glued to the paper) into the frame, hang on the wall, and enjoy!
